Purchase of the allocated server.
Having read this chapter you can avoid errors at purchase of a paid hosting.
The basic error which is made by many people is a selection of a hosting for the price. At server purchase such proverbs “Avaricious actual pays twice” and “Free cheese is only in a mousetrap” fit perfectly well. As for me I prefer the American variant “For what you pay , that you receive”.
Recently on the Internet there has been many hosting providers selling the server at suspiciously cheap price: $120 or $80 or even $50 a month and include there almost 2000 gigabyte of the traffic. On the other hand a lot of the companies offer the same but costing $400 or $500, and even $1000.
Why is it so? Where is a dirty trick here? How to be?
Let’s begin with the explanation how the prices are formed. The cores Pricing in hosting business depends on the following factors:
The server.
The channels (providers) to which the Date center is connected.
The switch to which is connected a network cable from the server. (Often it is called the port)
Attendants in a data-center.
The system of sale of the traffic.
Rack space (an electricity, a place in a rack).
Processing cards.
This list is full enough.
On what it is possible to save? It appears practically on all except point 6.
1. The server. The economy on the server can be essential if instead of professional industrial server to take usual discount variant. I.e. the usual house system block. For example Intel Celeron 2.0 with IDE the screw on 40 G and memory 512 Mb – it will cost only $250 whereas the industrial server of a similar configuration will pull on $600 – $800. Why is this such difference? All the matter is that servers are obliged to work smoothly months and years, they are created for this purpose. Whereas, the house computers are not obliged to work in extreme modes. A consequence of it are frequent failures of power units and systems of cooling (aeration), as consequence either a full stop of system or glitches connected with an overheat. 2. The channels (providers)
The hosting companies, as it appears have got providers . Here only they buy not 64 Kbit but at least 100 mbs, more often the channel of 1 GBs and more.
Depending on the provider the prices are formed. The providers with not qualitative networks are cheaper, better – are more expensive. The prices fluctuate from $20000 for GB up to $70000 for GB depending on the supplier.
It is clear, that those who sell for 50$-60k, do it understandably. And such expensive channels are bought from them.
Before you buy any web site hosting, you need to go through the web hosting reviews routine. Of course you need to be realistic and be aware of the fact that now unlimited hosting is real. But if you go through the nice number of cpanel web hosting sites – you will see the true picture.
